I- The customary marriage

Marriage of Eden looks well to the customary structure of marriage. So the Lord God finds that it is not good that man should be alone; he companion to the man who never found an help meet for him. God the Father is present. He gave Eve to Adam. It is he who takes the initiative of choice of spouse knowing the need of Adam; but it is one that invites the people of the wild animals and birds of the sky, and perhaps even the angels come to see (here) the woman God gave him: 'This at last that is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; Be called Woman by what she was taken out of man '' What happiness! What a lesson in humility! May God help us to understand the meaning of marriage in the Garden of Eden and to change our practices and mentalities.

The marriage of Isaac and Rebekah When we read the Bible in Genesis 24: 42-61, we see that Rebecca is asked in marriage for Isaac. And we follow the procedures that have been made Abraham does not want Isaac to take a wife of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom he lives. He wants for her son, a woman from his country and his country of Ur of the Chaldeans. He had already put the ring in the face of Rebecca and the bracelets on her hands, to demand the hand of the daughter to the son of Abraham. Parents recognize that God is the origin of this meeting and they agree to let go of their young daughter. Abraham's servant out of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing that gives Rebecca; he also makes rich presents to her brother and to her mother.

Rebecca accessed agrees to put together the way the servant who leads with his young master. Both éprouvèrent a love for each other and their marriage was happy.
